Great releases don't always have to be full albums. Below are my 5 favorite EPs of 2022. They're short but chock full of greatness.

The ReVe Festival 2022

The ReVe Festival trilogy of EPs were among my favorite releases from 2019, so it pleases me to see the k-pop supergroup going back to that name. This new ReVe release is one of their best in a couple years, cranking out some hits like those that made the group so big in the first place.

Snake Eyes

Snake Eyes is a brief teaser for the full length release 100 gecs have cooked up for 2023, and it’s a solid introduction to the wild kind of music they make. It’s not their best, but the duo’s knack for catchy glitch pop will assuredly hook you in enough to bring you back for 10000 gecs.

The Other Side

In her first major release since the disbandment of Chromatics, Ruth Radelet provides more of the same ethereal pop that made that band famous in the first place. The Other Side is less synth-heavy than her previous work but no less magnetizing.

Icarus

Sarah Bonito’s childlike voice pairs remarkably well with the harsh beats she uses on her first solo release. It’s melodically similar to her work with Kero Kero Bonito but with more industrial noise. The dichotomy this mix creates is truly unlike anything else from this year.

Le Piano

Picture yourself at a hotel pool with a drink in your hand, sunglasses over your eyes, and not a care in the world. That’s what Le Piano sounds like. It’s breezy synthpop that’ll make you feel like the coolest dude in the world just listening to it.
